I often wonder why western operas remain ever so popular over the last few centuries – is it because of the music, the sceneries, the sets, the heartwarming stories, the singers who want to share their passion or the charismatic conductors waving their arms in the orchestral pits, or maybe all of the above.  Our young singers from the School of Music of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts are indeed most fortunate to have their musical talents displayed to audiences around Hong Kong and beyond.  We are also most privileged to be in a position to share with you how our talents are discovered and the journeys of learning and transformation through years of dedicated training and practices.

西方歌劇經歷數個世紀，依然歷久不衰，有什麼特別原因呢？

悅耳動聽的音樂、美輪美奐的場景、打動人心的故事、真情洋溢的歌唱家、還有魅力四射的樂團指揮，或許這一切都是歌劇的魅力所在。香港演藝學院音樂學院致力發掘栽培新一代藝術家，我們喜見學院的年輕歌唱家，得以參與歌劇演出，向海內外觀眾展現音樂才華。很高興能與各位一起見證他們蛻變成材的圓夢之旅。
